Grindhouse Double BIll: Crocodile and Tintorera

  • Posted by: Steve Biodrowski
  • Event Date & Time: Tuesday, June 10 @ 7:30pm
  • Location: New Beverly CInema - 7165 Beverly Blvd in Los Angeles (323) 938-4038
  • In Person: possible special guests

The New Beverly Cinema was a bit late posting their schedule of films for June, so this has not made it onto the Hollywood Gothique calendar yet: Eric Caiden and Brian quinn are presenting another Grindhouse film festival this tuesday. Here is the pertinent info from a press release:

  • Don't miss our next mind-boggling Grindhouse Film Festival event at  the New Beverly Cinema this Tuesday, June 10th. We'll be welcoming  the summer beach season with two films that feature people getting  ripped apart in the water! First up is CROCODILE, an amazing and  incredibly entertaining Thai film from 1981. If you've been enjoying  the recent batch of horror films from Thailand but always wanted to see one featuring villagers being chomped on by a giant crocodile,  this early example of Thai exploitation filmmaking is the one for  you. Following this will be the 1977 killer shark film TINTORERA from  Mexican director Rene Cardona Jr. (GUYANA: CULT OF THE DAMNED) and starring Susan George (STRAW DOGS), Hugo Stiglitz (NIGHTMARE CITY),  Fiona Lewis and Jennifer Ashley. A sleazy mix of a softcore sex film with a killer shark film, this one has something for everyone and is  perfect for anyone who thought JAWS was pretty good but would have been truly great if it had a bunch of nudity added.

We may also have a couple of special guests, so check our MySpace  page for the most current info.

The event starts at 7:30pm, and admission for the two features plus a  reel of rare exploitation trailers and our world-famous free raffle  is still only $8.00.

For additional information and schedules for upcoming events, visit
    our MySpace page at www.myspace.com/grindhouse.
