In anticipation of its March 18 DVD debut, THE LOST (2005) is getting brief "platform" release at the Laemmle Sunset 5 Theatres in West Los Angeles. There will be a Q&A session after the 7:00pm screening on Friday, February 29.

From the press releases:

  • Writer/Director Chris Sivertson (I Know Who Killed Me) and Star Marc Senter (Cabin Fever 2)will be holding a Q&A for their new thriller THE LOST on Friday, September 29th, at the Laemmle’s Sunset 5 Theaters immediately following the 7:00pm screening.  Moderated by Ryan Turek, Managing Editor of ShockTillYouDrop.com, Chris and Marc will discuss the challenges of bringing the shocking bestseller to the big screen, as well as take a few questions from the audience (time permitting).

Based on a book by Jack Ketchum, this little low-budget film from 2005 is about a psycho who kills some people pretty much for the hell of it. I saw it at the 2006 Screamfest horror film festival in Hollywood, and I was not overly impressed. For most its length it's a dull crime-thriller until the splatter erupts in the final reel. At lest Senter gives a good performance in the lead. You can read my complete review of the film here.
