Starting the New Year right

  • Posted by: Steve Biodrowski

I've been busy updating the Hollywood Gothique Calendar for 2008. It looks like the New Year is getting off to a great start, with lots of fantasy films, mystery movies, and sci-fi cinema in January.

ONE MISSED CALL opens on January 4. Then we get CLOVERFIELD on the 18th.

RESIDENT EVIL shows up at Cinespace - part of their dinner and a movie offering - this Friday and Saturday, the 4th and the 5th.

If you're interested in classics, the Arclight Cinemas in Hollwyood and Sherman Oaks will be showing METROPOLIS, CLOSE ENCOUNTERS, THE SHINING, and 2001, among others.

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art has the 1933 version of KING KONG on the 8th. There is also a weekend-long tribute to David Lynch, including a 30th Anniversary restoration of ERASERHEAD on the 18th and 19th.

Check out these and more in the January section of our Calendar.
