The British newspaper The Guardian has a review of REVENGE OF THE SITH, and the news is not pretty. Avoiding faux attempts at balance, they just go on the attack, and it's pretty devastating.
Perhaps the worst news is that Christopher Lee (whose performance as Count Dooku/Darth Tyranus was one of the few good things in ATTACK OF THE CLONES) dies early.
Of course, this is not really news. From PHANTOM MENACE, we know there can only be two Sith at a time, so it was obvious that Lee's character had to be dispatched to make way for Anakin's transformation into Darth Vader. This just underlines a continuing problem with the prequels: predicatiblity born of adhering to a rigid formula.
Anyway, here's my favorite line, in which Peter Bradshaw describes Hayden Christensen's attempt to convey the growing evil of Anakin/Vader by...
"...tilging his head down, looking up through lowered brows, and giving the unmistakable impression that he is very, very cross. If Princess Diana had gone to the Dark Side, she would havelooked a lot like this."
